M27 - Dumbbell Nebula

The same day as I managed to photograph M57 and M13 I also took some shots at the first planetary nebula that Charles Messier was able to photograph back in 1764.

The Dumbbell Nebula (also known as Apple Core Nebula, Messier 27, M 27, or NGC 6853) is a planetary nebula in the constellation of Vulpecula, at a distance of about 1,360 ly. It has an apparent size of 8 arcminutes with a radius of 1,44 ly.

This object, with a magnitude of aprox 7,5 is relatively easy to see with binoculars and totally observable from small refractors.

The picture is composed of 55 x 2seconds, 10 darks and 10 bias processed with DSS and Photoshop. Again, the tracking of my ETX is not working at all. It's time for a change...
